Diego León Honorary Potter 2003

The La Rambla Potter Artisans Association awarded the title of honorary potter to Diego León del Río in 2003.

Every year, this association selects two people or entities as "Honorary Potters". To be worthy of this title, the pottery sector values the career and contribution to the dissemination of La Rambla Ceramics.

That year, along with Diego León, the title was also awarded to the Lovera García family.

This is how the news appeared in the Córdoba newspaper:

The La Rambla Potter Artisans Association has named Diego León del Río and the Lovera García family as Honorary Potters of the current year. The former is a veteran potter and ceramicist from La Rambla, who has stood out for his innovative spirit throughout his long professional career. For their part, the Lovera García family organizes the Enrique Lovera Porras ceramic design contest, which this year reached its seventh edition and was awarded to the Japanese architect and ceramicist Masato Hayashi.

The local potter group will present the association's gold badge to both winners in an event that will take place in the plenary hall of the Town Hall of La Rambla next Saturday, the 19th. On that date, Potter's Day will be celebrated, in honor of the patron saints of the guild, Saints Justa and Rufina.
