New prestige brand for Andalusian craftsmanship

Artesanía León
New prestige brand for Andalusian craftsmanship

The differentiation of artisanal production is defined by two key elements: the raw material and the technique used. It is very likely that the client, when acquiring an object, a figure, a garment or an accessory, is not aware of the manufacturing process behind its creation or elaboration, since they are looking at a finished final product and feel attracted by its beauty or design.

But craftsmanship is associated, in general, with a good handful of positive values such as originality, exclusivity, skill, quality, tradition, roots, culture, history... All this framework, in addition to being promoted, needs to be protected, since it constitutes the basis on which the relationship of trust with the consumer is built.

Andalusia is one of the communities where the craft sector has the greatest weight, since it groups about 7,000 companies, more than 18% of the national artisan firms, providing employment to almost 20,000 people, which represents around 19% of the employment of the artisanal sector in Spain, according to data from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

Taking into account this relevance, the Regional Ministry of Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge and Universities has created a single brand, 'Artesanía hecha en Andalucía' (Craftsmanship made in Andalusia), which aims to boost the promotion and marketing of craft production made in the region, as well as protect and maintain the prestige of this economic activity, professionals and their works.

Frequently, artisanal products are exposed to low-quality imitations and copies that affect sales and damage the reputation of the original products, with the consequent losses for the sector. Therefore, 'Artesanía hecha en Andalucía' certifies that the purchased item is a craft product made in an artisanal workshop that has all manufacturing guarantees and the highest quality standards, and that the piece or creation is authentic, singular and unique.
